Groton Police Department Groton's four-man police department offers 24-hour protection to the citizens of Groton. The department added a third man in 1996 thanks to a grant from President Clinton's COPS FAST program. To call the police locally, dial 911 for emergencies or 397-8100 for non-emergencies. All calls are answered by the Brown County Regional Dispatch Center in Aberdeen and then forwarded to the officer on duty. The crime stoppers hotline is 397-4500. In addition Mayou, Bjerke and Cleveland are D.A.R.E. officers in the Groton Public School System. DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
