Garbage Pick-up

The city has an independent contractor (Heartland Sanitation, Mobridge) that comes to pick up the city resident's garbage. Garbage pick-up begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The monthly fee is $8.40 plus 4 percent sales tax and the bill shows up on the monthly utility bill.

Yard waste stickers are available at city Hall for $1 per bag, box or can.

Garbage has to be in a waterproof bag or can (covered with handles), no larger than 36 gallons, 75 pounds or 4-feet in length. Will accept household garbage, paper, cardboard, small furniture. Items such as yard waste, tires and batteries are not accepted.

Commercial accounts deal directly with an independent contractor.
