A three-cell lagoon for water treatment was constructed in 1998 and is located about one mile southeast of Groton.

• Initial Hook-up Fee: $375

• The following schedule of rates governing consumers connected the City of Groton Sanitary Sewer for a wastewater disposal fee is to be used for billing on a monthly basis throughout each year. Each sanitary sewer service is figured independently from any other sanitary sewer service at each customer's location. Sanitary Sewer Wastewater Disposal Fees will be based on the average water usage during November and December of the preceding year and January, February, March and April of the current year (base months). The average use will be set on May 15 of each year and the fee, based on this average, will be applied for the next 12 months. Abnormal high usage due to plumbing malfunctions during the base months may be adjusted upon receipt of written proof and usage will be based on different months. Residences or businesses unoccupied or capped during the base months readings shall base usage on the months closest to these months when they are occupied or uncapped.

• Residential & General Service Sanitary Sewer/Wastewater Disposal Fee:
• Minimum Bill - $20.00 per month includes 1-2,000 gallons
• Next 5,000 gallons - $3.25 per 1,000 gallons
• Over 7,000 gallons - $2.00 per 1,000 gallons
• This charge will be discontinued only if the water line has been capped.
