ABOUT GROTON'S POWER
The City of Groton gets its main supply of electricity from the Western Area Power Administration with the remaining supply from Heartland Consumers Power District.

RESIDENTIAL RATES*
Minimum Charge: $10 per month
First 100 KWH = 10¢/KWH
Next 400 KWH = 5.5¢/KWH
Next 1,500 KWH = 4¢/KWH
Over 2,000 KWH = 4.5¢/KWH

COMMERCIAL RATES*
Minimum Charge: $12.50 per month
First 300 KWH = 12.5¢/KWH
Next 700 KWH = 5.5¢/KWH
Over 1,000 KWH = 4.5¢/KWH

INTERRUPTIBLE POWER*
2.75¢/KWH
Interruptible power is electricity that can be controlled during peak times. The City of Groton has one of the most sophisticated load management systems in the state. Dual Heat, Heat Storage Units and Hot Water Heaters qualify for this rate. In order to qualify for the Dual Heat rate, the customer must have a back-up source of heat such as Heat Storage Units. To qualify for dual fuel, at least 60 percent of the building must be heated with electric as the main source of heat. A secondary heat must be available for this area which can heat the area for up to three days, if necessary.

MONTHLY CREDITS
A credit is given each month on the following:
Controlled Electric Hot Water Heaters: $2.00
Controlled 220 or Central Air Conditioners not in a dual fuel house: $7.00 for June, July and August Billings

SALES INCENTIVES
Hot Water Heaters
New or replacement (not under 5 year warranty), 50-gallon minimum: $2.00/gallon.
Electric Heat
Installed with interruptible Capacity: $20/KW up to 400 KW
Heat Storage Units:
Installed free from the panel. Surcharge of 1¢/KHW of heat storage unit usage for 4 years.

SURCHARGE
Any customer who does not participate in the city's load management program will have a surcharge of
150% on the fees listed.

DEMAND RATES*
Any customer who uses over 8,000 KHW or 25KW in a month will be on a demand rate for at least one year. Minimum Charge: $16.50 + 40¢ per KVA of transformer capacity
$5/KW of demand on the highest 15-minute demand established in the current or previous six-month period plus 3¢/KWH.

RECONNECT FEE: $25.00
SECURITY LIGHTS: $7.50 per month
EFFECTIVE DATE: January 2001
TAPPING FEE: $250.00

* Plus 6% sales tax
