About Garbage Pickup Service
The city has an independent contractor that comes in to pick up the city resident's garbage. Garbage pickup begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday for residents east of Main Street and begins at 8 a.m. for residents living west of Main Street.
The monthly fee is $8.40 plus 4% sales tax and the bills shows up on the monthly city utility bill.
Yard waste stickers are available at City Hall for 50¢ per bag, box or can.
Garbage has to be in waterproof bag or can (covered with handles), no larger than 36 gallons, 75 pounds or 4-feet in length. Will accept: household garbage, paper, cardboard, paint and chemical containers, plastics, small furniture, carpeting, etc. NOT accepting yard waste, tires and batteries.
